What is ZUBSOLV®?

ZUBSOLV® (buprenorphine and naloxone) sublingual tablet (CIII) is a prescription medicine used to treat opioid addiction in adults as part of a complete treatment program that includes counseling and behavioral therapy.

What is the most important information I should know about ZUBSOLV®?

  • Breathing Problems: ZUBSOLV contains buprenorphine, an opioid that can cause serious and life-threatening breathing problems, especially when taken with other medications or substances. If you experience symptoms like dizziness, confusion, sleepiness, or slow breathing, seek emergency help immediately.

  • Naloxone: Discuss the availability of naloxone with your healthcare provider. Naloxone can treat an opioid overdose but still requires immediate medical attention.

  • Drug Interactions: Do not take ZUBSOLV with other opioids, benzodiazepines, alcohol, or CNS depressants. This can cause severe drowsiness, decreased awareness, breathing problems, coma, and death.

  • Injection Risks: Do not inject ZUBSOLV. Injection can cause serious health issues and sudden withdrawal symptoms.

  • Medicine Switch: Do not switch from ZUBSOLV to other buprenorphine-containing medications without consulting your healthcare provider.

  • Withdrawal: Do not stop taking ZUBSOLV suddenly to avoid withdrawal symptoms. Your body may have become physically dependent on the medicine.

  • Storage and Sharing: Never share ZUBSOLV. Store it securely, out of reach of children and others.

  • Physical Dependence or Abuse

  • Liver Problems: Watch for jaundice, dark urine, light stools, appetite loss, stomach pain, and nausea.
