TRIGGER POINT INJECTION
About Trigger Points
A trigger point is a tight spot in a muscle or the tissue surrounding it that can cause muscle cramps and pain in the neck and back, among other places. A combination of an anesthetic and cortisone steroid is injected into the trigger point in this treatment, which reduces pain and renders the trigger point inactive.
What Are The Benefits?
You don't have to let muscle knots in your trigger points keep you in constant pain all day long. Affordahealth Pain Relief & Wellness offers trigger point infusions that give a few benefits to our patients, for example:
Long-awaited relief from pain
Focused treatment for tiny, hard-to-reach pain points
Enabling you to resume activities and a way of life that you may have previously avoided
Relief from chronic pain and discomfort.
Ideal Candidates for Trigger Point Injections
Trigger points can develop as a result of a variety of things, including muscle overuse, injury, and trauma. Chronic conditions like fibromyalgia and myofascial pain syndrome can also cause them. Tension headaches, tinnitus, pain in the temporomandibular joint, restricted range of motion, and lower back pain are all possible manifestations of trigger points.
What to Expect after Trigger Point Injections
Patients can anticipate experiencing pain relief as a result of the anesthetic following the trigger point injections. A trigger point can frequently be effectively treated with a single injection. However, regular injections may be required to maintain the results if the trigger point is connected to a chronic condition. We will work with patients to create a customized treatment plan that is best suited to their situation.
Procedure Technique
Trigger point injections are available as an in-office procedure at our clinic. They typically only last a few minutes, and multiple areas can be treated in one visit. We may mark the treatment area before injecting the anesthetic and cortisone steroid into the affected areas. Patients typically have the ability to leave the office immediately following treatment.
